More about Kleeneze

I have just read an intel here about Kleeneze. I would like to add just a couple of other minus points on the 'opportunity'.

Firstly, the fact that each distributor does not have an area - which, in effect, means that in some areas there are in the region of 6 distributors delivering books out to some houses. Naturally, the householders get thoroughly fed up to the back teeth of these ever recurring books through their letterboxes.

After the first attempt to collect books and the note through the letterbox that you will be calling again on, for instance, Friday morning... and again not getting the book, you may knock on the door - only to receive abuse in many cases, sometimes, though rarely, an apology and a returned book. Often it is a book lost. And your contributor did not mention RAIN. If it rains when you are supposed to be collecting, many of your books will be ruined.

So FUEL costs and lost book costs are a big minus point.

Also a big minus which is rarely mentioned is the charges for operating an internet account - you are charged each month! Not cheap when you have all the other expenses.

Add to these problems the fact that items are often out of stock, so that is a sale, maybe even a customer lost. Also people are out when you schedule delivery - even though you give a time and day for delivery, plus contact telephone number for them to let you know if the scheduled delivery time/date is inconvenient.

My advice, if you really want to go in the catalogue delivery direction [the goods themselves are often good, and traditional ironmongers who used to stock such items are closing down their shops in droves because of increased overheads]... try Betterware. At least with them you don't have to pay for the books. Paying for the books at Kleeneze is so expensive, especially as they change them quite frequently.

I know of distributors who have been going for 2 years and more who are having to think very carefully about whether to continue or not - especially in the current economic climate, and with the high cost of petrol and diesel.
