Buying - where is best?

The contents of this intel are taken in part, and with alterations, from our "Where to Buy" page at Best UK Electrical Appliances...

"Wholesale... the 'for' for this method, is the overwhelming price advantage.

Against, is the fact that you need to be a business buyer; the exact item you are looking for may not be available; and most importantly you need to know about what you're buying... for example if you want to buy a television - you need to be a competent TV repair specialist - if you are you can perhaps check the item at the warehouse, and/or get it working once it's purchased.

Also, you may have to purchase a 'minimum' amount, and that may be more than you personally require - that said, you could join together with others who want a similar item; or you could sell the extras!

Another method, is by Auction... there are a growing number of auctions, including the police and government ones, which you can attend... and at which you can achieve remarkable purchase prices. Apart from the need to be a business buyer... the againsts are about the same as above!

It's a brilliant way to buy as long as you have the time and the transport. In fact you could probably make a business out of it!

Then we have the 'Shops' on eBay... search for Brand new products on eBay.co.uk? You need to check the sellers' feedback carefully, also the actual retail price of the items... then you could well bag yourself a bargain.

Online, is my next 'where to buy' contender... prices of all electrical appliances on the internet should be cheaper, and significantly cheaper in some instances... yes, you will have to wait to have the item delivered, but the same would apply if you were buying a large item from any other supplier.

As for problems... you can see a perfect item in the shop, order it, and wait... and wait... and along comes a damaged one, you can even see it is damaged before it is off the lorry! No, there are plenty of pitfalls to buying in a retail shop, so don't let those thoughts put you off internet shopping... in the where to buy stakes you can be lucky, or unlucky any time and anywhere."
